More than just an accounting service…
MJE Business Services has developed from a small business, established in Penshurst in 1997. Megan became a partner in the business in December 2000, and the sole proprietor in July 2003. Over the years the business has grown to become a partnership between Megan and Valerie. The team consists of full-time and part-time professional accountants and support staff that take pride in offering high quality, proactive and personalised service.
While MJE Business Services is located in Mortdale we services clients throughout the metropolitan area along with interstate and international clients. We specialise in providing assistance to a diverse range of clients.
Megan has been working in the accounting and finance industry since 1984, embracing commercial and public accounting, taxation and audit experience. Early experience and training in public accounting through Duesburys, a medium tier firm, provided the resources to complete her PY program and become a fully qualified Chartered Accountant in 1989 and later becoming a Fellow in 2003. Exposure to a wide variety of clients in public practice provided knowledge and ability to become a public accountant in December 2000. Being a Registered Tax Agent and Fellow Chartered Accountant, Megan is more than qualified to assist you with your personal and business requirements.
Megan’s interests and hobbies include rugby union, going to the gym (when she gets a chance) and spending time with friends and family.
Valerie has been working with the firm since 1999. Studying part-time, she completed her commerce degree at the University of Western Sydney and graduated in April 2001. In June 2005 Val completed the CA program becoming a fully qualified Chartered Accountant (CA). She is now a Tax Agent and has a Certificate of Public Practice with the Institute.
Valerie works part-time in all areas of accounting and taxation, including the administration of Self-Managed Superannuation Funds for clients.
Val enjoys spending her spare time with her hubby, adorable kids, very spoiled pets and extended family.
Sara started working in reception when she moved back to Sydney in 2013. She has since taken over many of the management tasks for the business to allow Megan and our other accountants to focus on completing work for our clients. She handles all ASIC documentation and records for MJE and our clients, and acts as the first port of call for all ATO liaisons. In her newest role, she now manages much of MJE Business Services’ online presence. Sara has recently completed her certification in Xero Accounting software.
Sara is an avid baker and loves being outdoors. On weekends she can often be found catching up with friends and soaking up some sunshine whenever its shining.
Lynda joined MJE in July 2009 after completing a TAFE course to update her office skills. She has had many varied jobs over the years gathering different skills along the way. Lynda helps look after all aspects of keeping the office running smoothly and is always happy to help the staff and clients wherever she can.
Lynda goes to the gym as little as possible, loves spending time with the family, reading and anything to do with houses.
